Anne Lifton has 7 years of experience in data science, working across diverse industries including medical devices, industrial HVAC and retail. She has a master’s degree from the University of Iowa in Statistics. Anne has been active in evangelizing machine learning, regularly supporting corporate-wide strategic planning to harness the most current capabilities of AI and ML, while balancing these strategies with realistic expectations and pragmatism.

She currently manages a team responsible for the entire Nordstrom.com suite of personalization offerings, which touch nearly every page of the site from homepage to checkout.

In her time at Nordstrom, she has led a workshop on artificial intelligence, and introduced recommender systems which harness synergistic approaches within AI to combine capabilities of computer vision, natural language processing and expert systems. She has had a longstanding interest in couture and ready-to-wear fashion, her favorite designers being Jean-Paul Gaultier, Alexander McQueen, Christian Dior and Yigal Azrouel.
